Necessity Birthed Creativity

I've been a maker, crafter, and artist all my life. My passion lies first with writing. I feel the most honest when I write my thoughts out on paper.

I've also been a wife and mom for the last 8 years. This is where my heart has grown the most! This is also where the depths of necessity came barging in. There has always been a longing to use my creativity outside our home. But, that was met up against my desire to be home with our young kids. My husband has worked extremely hard as sole provider as we work through the balance of our lifestyle. I have spent a lot of time determine my best role in contributing to our household. It's been quite the experience! I wouldn't change it for anything.

In 2016, a lot of things changed. We began to pursue adoption. With this, came fees and financial demand that needed to be met by us. I dove into using every outlet I could find to make our adoption happen. The expenses are outrageous and we knew we needed to alter things in our lives one more time.

Through a lot of trial and error, I found my home in splicing writing with graphic art to create products I love to share. Fictive Fair was born out of this idea that I could create the things I wanted to have in my own closet and in my own home. Then I could share those same things with others! There is nothing as rewarding as creating the things you love to see.

In turn, our family has one more leg to stand on. We will bring home our newest daughter, who has Down Syndrome, from Eastern Europe early in 2018. We hope Fictive Fair will continue to grow alongside our family as well!
